Getting started
Sitting Circle is for private babysitting circles between friends, family members and parents who already know and trust each other. It runs on iPhone and iPad, does not help you find strangers, and RGT Software Ltd does not vet or approve sitters.
The intended App Store purchase path is the paid Sitting Circle App Bundle, so one purchase includes the iPhone app and the native iPad companion. The apps do not use subscriptions, in-app purchases or paid tokens.
Create or join a group
Use the Groups tab to create a private circle. Each active member starts with 10 tokens in that group. Tokens stay inside the group and cannot be transferred elsewhere.
Add trusted members
Small groups can add members directly through the owner or backup admin. Once a group has three or more active members, proposed members need two approvals from existing members other than the proposer.
Make a babysitting request
Use the Requests tab to choose a group, start time and duration. Sitting Circle calculates the fixed token amount automatically: 1 token for every 30 minutes. Members can accept or decline; requesters can cancel open requests.
Bookings and completion
Accepted requests become bookings. Tokens do not move when a booking is accepted. After the sitting is complete, the sitter marks it complete and the requester confirms completion before tokens transfer.
Cancellations and no-shows
Agreed bookings can be cancelled, and no-shows can be reported after the start time. These actions are recorded in the group activity feed and do not transfer tokens automatically.
Calendar and notifications
You can add agreed bookings to Calendar if you allow calendar access. Notifications are used for private group alerts when enabled, but you can still review requests, bookings and activity inside the app.
iPhone, iPad and iCloud
When iCloud is available, Sitting Circle uses the signed-in Apple Account with CloudKit to help keep your iPhone and iPad apps in sync. If iCloud is unavailable, local app data remains available on the device.
Tokens are not money
Tokens are only a private group balance. They cannot be bought, sold, withdrawn, gambled, exchanged for cash or transferred between groups.
