Start a capture
Open QuietScribe and choose Capture to start a new voice recording. Pick the capture style that fits the note, such as dictation, meeting, interview, field visit or journal, then start recording when you are ready.
Import existing audio
Use Import Audio to choose a compatible audio file from Files. QuietScribe adds the imported file to the same capture library so it can be played back, transcribed and reviewed like a recording made in the app.
Listen back
Open a capture to use playback controls for the recorded audio. Listen to the source recording before relying on generated text, and use the back control to move through the audio while reviewing the transcript.
Transcribe audio
QuietScribe uses Apple Speech Recognition for transcription. In Settings, choose your main transcription language and accuracy mode. Higher Accuracy Online may use Apple server-backed recognition. Private On-Device requests on-device recognition when the selected language and device support it.
Review generated outputs
After transcription, use the capture detail tabs to review the transcript and available outputs such as summary, actions, email text and journal-style notes. Treat generated output as a draft and check it against the audio before sharing or saving it.
Export text
Use the export controls on a capture to copy text, share it through Apple system destinations, save it to Files or prepare email-ready text. The destination you choose controls what happens to exported content after it leaves QuietScribe.
Organise captures
The capture library shows recent recordings and imported audio. You can open captures for playback and review, use Archive for older captures, and delete captures from lists where the delete control is available.
Settings
Use Settings to choose the main transcription language, select a transcription accuracy mode, review QuietScribe Pro availability, restore purchases, and open support, privacy, terms and other RGT Software Ltd app links.
Privacy notes
QuietScribe keeps recordings, transcripts, generated outputs and app settings in the app's local library by default. Audio or text leaves the app only when you export, share, email, save to another destination, or choose a transcription mode that uses Apple server-backed recognition.
